Dikkon’s Mentorship Program
I work with writers on a casual basis to answer questions they may have about their Christian stories while they write them. Most of our communication is by email, occasionally by telephone.
Sometimes a mentoring relationship focuses on only a few distinct issues related to a book problem, sometimes it is more wide-ranging and of longer duration.
My attention is to the big-picture, conceptual issues of writing and book-shaping. I do not provide copy-editing, research, design, networking, or any other aspect of the writing and publishing business.
Nor do I make any guarantee, at all, about the outcome for mentees of any writing or professional advice I provide.
Given time constraints related to my own writing, I am able to work with only a few mentees at a time.
The writing and then publishing of a book is a difficult and time-consuming process, though it is a rewarding one spiritually, socially, and psychologically.
I expect my mentees to be entrepreneurial in their own interest. In other words, they must make their own decisions about their motivation to write, about their goals for their writing both financial and otherwise, and about their understanding of the Lord’s purpose for them.
I encourage them and make suggestions; they evaluate the suggestions and do the work.
